Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025 · Lendlyfin Pty Ltd ACN 000 000 000

Lendlyfin Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. What information we collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when using our website or contacting us, including:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Financial information you enter into our calculators (income, expenses, deposit amount)
  • Information about your mortgage enquiry (property type, loan purpose, budget)
  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited

We do not collect sensitive personal information (as defined by the Privacy Act) without your explicit consent.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to your mortgage enquiry and connect you with a licensed mortgage broker
  • Provide personalised borrowing power estimates and loan comparisons
  • Send you updates about your enquiry via email or phone
  • Improve our website and calculators
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

We will not use your information for direct marketing without your consent. You can opt out of any marketing communications at any time.

3. How we share your information

We may share your personal information with:

  • Licensed mortgage brokers — to facilitate your loan enquiry. These individuals operate under their own Australian Credit Licence or under an ACL holder's authorisation.
  • Service providers — including cloud hosting providers (Railway, Supabase) and email delivery services (SendGrid) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
  • Regulatory bodies — where required by law, such as ASIC or AUSTRAC.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with lenders directly without your explicit consent.

4. Credit information

Our online calculators and eligibility tools do not perform credit checks and do not access credit reporting bodies. No information you enter into our calculators is shared with lenders or credit agencies. If you proceed to a formal loan application through a broker, that broker will seek your consent separately before conducting a credit enquiry.

5. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure, access-controlled databases
  • Password hashing using bcrypt
  • JWT-based authentication for our broker portal

While we take all reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure. We encourage you not to share sensitive financial credentials (passwords, PINs) with us or anyone else.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet our legal obligations. Enquiry data is typically retained for seven years in accordance with ASIC's record-keeping requirements for credit activities. You may request deletion of your data at any time (subject to legal requirements).

7. Cookies and tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some website functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal requirements)
  • Complain about a breach of your privacy rights

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
